Editorial

You may have heard or read about the "Butterfly Effect," a phenomena in which the energy from a butterfly's wings can ripple into a storm on the opposite side of the world. It is amazing what synergy can do. I find it extremely interesting that the demonstrations in Egypt, which toppled a 30-year old government, are having rippling effects not only in that region of the world, but also in other continents. Protests in the United States have been rare until recently. Government workers in Wisconsin and Ohio have been demonstrating against proposed elimination of union bargaining rights, a solution sought by Republican leaders to handle very large state budget deficits. Whether you are a liberal, pro-worker person or a conservative in favor of financial prudence, the butterfly effect of recent protests and demonstrations around the wold cannot go unnoticed. Are we witnessing the beginnings of global-level discontentment? ~Victor
